Revitalised!
A levels is around the corner. I ve started picking up what i left last year, and trying my best not to repeat the same old mistake cos it seemed like a sin committing the same mistake again and again. Isnt it defeating the purpose of learning? Learning is the art of doing mistakes initially, and learning it thereafter. Differentiating between the right and wrong is another level perhaps. U learn things everyday. For instance, im amazed that Red is defined as the winning colour, based on studies conducted during the early Olympics and Euro 2004 championship. Well, it came as no surprise that Liverpool were triumphant in the recent European championships simply because they wore red. Trailing 3-0 at half time, the Reds put up a performance that rattled the morals n spirits of the tactically wise Italians and with red bearing as their uniform, it seems that the colour tips the balance to them. In the EPl itself, Arsenal and Man U thrived on red respectively. Milan prouldy presents red as their home groud colour. It seems to be a wise decision to bet on a team whose outfit is red because of strong psychological boosts and effects. Human reddens when they are angry, n this interprets to be a source of dominance. The advantage of red may be intuitively known, judging from the prevalence of red uniforms in sports—"though it is clearly not very widely appreciated, on a conscious level at least," Barton said, a British anthropologists, from the University of Durham.
Yest, was fun playing street soccer. No doubt it has been quite a while tat ive managed to stay in the court as winners. Probably sheer determination and a winning spirit tat boosted yest performance, n in my case, a slogan tat would always remind me, ""Whoever said it's not the winning it's the taking part, obviously lost"". Well, in this slogan, it's a simple reminder that getting into a game, a match of whatever sort or stake, it all about winning and not just being part of it. If it the idea of juz taking part then itz juz like going through the motion, without any sense of excitement and thrills, and to add, no sense of winning. Keep tat phrase in mind! Attitude makes the difference.
Well, hamdonok have made a come back to the local soccer scene, after suffering from a long term injury which dramatically affects his skills and most importantly his fitness. Movements was quite static but still came to be a useful player upfront when it comes to the scoring bussiness. Though he was down and out for months, he still have tat magical striker's touch. Well, once a striker, always a striker.
As promised, i will now deliver a 2 cents worth of tactics on defending. Its pretty complicated but this is a simple defending tactic for those who are familiar with strategies and tactical defending. This applies only on street soccer courts.
Let's start with eliminating the 2-1-1.
Ok2, the opponet have 2 defenders, 1 midfield and a player upfront in case u didnt get what im talking about.
The 2-1-1 is one of the most difficult to contain. Why? It utilises an attack that uses the entire court, and it can come from any direction. The formation allows players to rotate around which simply means the workings and mechanism of this formation is similiar to the the Dutch Total Football. The best way to contain such formation to pre-determine the movement of the players. Is the player upfront swithces places with his midfield mate? Do they switch to a 1-3 formation when it comes to attacking ur front? If u can counter such problems, then the job would be taken care of.
Shutting down the 2-2 formation.
Itz a relatively hard formation to cover due to huge unattend spaces on the court, so expect alot of running and one on one markings. The game is basically won in the midfield, where alot of battles would take place.
SAFSA trials is in Oct. Ive gotta train for tat, n hope tat the doors for the National Team would soon open again for me. Haiz, the thought of playing for ur country..kept swirling in my mind past few days, after watching the World Youth Championship..What i need is confidence, sharpen ma fitness to a level 12 blip test..n prob perfect ma basic skills n movements, is tat enough for the National team to accept me?
